Postage Statement
Generation System

Used in conjunction with MAILdb, POSTAGEdb allows you to work with standard Mail.dat data files on a Windows PC.

With POSTAGEdb you can:

Generate Postage Statements
Manage Partial Releases
Generate MEPPS Formatted Output Files
Generate PostalOne! Formatted Output Files
Generate CPP Text Files for Periodicals
Produce Summary Reports for a Variety of Uses

Manage Partial Releases

With POSTAGEdb you can select the portion of a mailing that is dropping today and produce the postage statements for just that mail.

Click on containers, entry points, trucks or segments to select the mail you want. POSTAGEdb and MAILdb keep track of what mail has been released, when it was released and what mail has not yet gone.

Why is it important to manage partial releases?

Generate MEPPS, CPP and PostalOne! Formatted Output Files

If you pay postage through the USPS Multiple Entry Point Payment System (MEPPS), Centralized Postage Payment (CPP), or the PostalOne! program, POSTAGEdb can help.

Manage your partial releases as described above and simply request MEPPS, CPP or PostalOne! files instead of postage statements.

Produce Summary Reports

In addition to postage statements, POSTAGEdb allows you to produce useful reports describing your mailing for use in production, quality control, documentation and acceptance facilitation.

Container Summary Report
Lists details for each container by entry point and (optionally) by truck/stop number. This report has proven to be extremely useful on the mailing production floor and is also often used as a checkoff list for quality control.       Here's a sample.

Entry Point Summary Report
For each entry point: Shows counts by rate category, and (optionally) Mail Piece Unit details and counts by rate category.

Zone Summary for Periodicals
For each entry point: Shows copies and pounds, by zone, for each rate category.

Zone Summary for Standard(B) Mail
For each entry point: Shows pieces and pounds, by rate category, for each zone.

Containers by Mother Pallet Report
For each mother pallet: Shows details for each container on the pallet.

Container-to-Pallet Cross Reference Report
For each palletized container: Shows the pallet ID as well as other details for the container.

All of these reports can be displayed on your PC screen and printed to hard copy. If you wish, you can even save the reports as text files, which can be opened and read with the POSTAGEdb Statement Viewer. Very handy for transmitting the information to other users, and also for archiving.

The POSTAGEdb Statement Viewer

All the postage statements and reports produced by POSTAGEdb can be displayed on your PC screen and printed to hard copy. In addition, you can save these statements and reports as text files, which can be opened and read with the POSTAGEdb Statement Viewer.

The POSTAGEdb Statement Viewer is a companion product to – and is included withPOSTAGEdb. Using the Statement Viewer, another user, who does not have access to the POSTAGEdb system nor to the underlying data in your MAILdb database, can view and print the postage statements and reports that you create and send to him.

Also, the Statement Viewer provides a convenient mechanism for archiving postage statements and reports for future reference. Just save the documents as text files and use the Statement Viewer to read them later without having to re-run the job.
